Classes
Thank you for your interest in the quilting classes I currently offer! Whether you are looking for an engaging guild program, a hands-on workshop, or specialized longarm instruction, I would love the opportunity to create a learning experience that fits the needs of your group.
Most classes can be presented in a variety of formats, including hands-on instruction, lecture and demonstration, or lecture-only presentations. Class content and length can also be adapted to accommodate your schedule and the experience level of your participants.
Longarm quilting classes are typically offered as 3-hour hands-on workshops, with many topics easily expanded into 6-hour, full-day classes for additional instruction and practice. Many of these same classes are also highly effective as lecture/demo or lecture-only programs, making them a great option for quilt guilds, shops, retreats, and special events.
I am continually developing new classes and adding to my curriculum, so please check back often for new learning opportunities.
I would love to work with you to create an informative, inspiring, and enjoyable experience for your group!

Before You Quilt!
Class Description
Conversation Must-Haves: Between the Piecer & Longarm Quilter
Let’s have a conversation! Great quilting begins with great communication, and there are certain conversations every piecer and longarm quilter should have before that quilt is loaded onto the frame.
How will the quilt be quilted? Which batting is best? How should the backing be prepared—and how big does it really need to be? What will the quilting cost? What is the expected turnaround time? And perhaps most importantly, are the piecer and longarm quilter envisioning the same finished quilt?
In this informative lecture, we’ll walk through the important details that should be discussed before the quilting process begins. We’ll talk about quilting styles and design expectations, batting and thread choices, backing preparation, budget, turnaround time, how the quilt will be used, and those little details that can make a big difference in the finished project.
Whether you are a piecer preparing to send your next quilt to a professional or a longarm quilter working with clients, this class will help you ask the right questions, set clear expectations, and create a better quilting experience for everyone.
Both piecers and longarm quilters are welcome. Come ready to learn, ask questions, and—of course—have a conversation!
