Description
How It Works
After purchasing your consultation, you will email me clear photos of your quilt top. Please include:
- One photo showing the entire quilt top
- A close-up of a block or main design area
- A close-up of the center
- A close-up of the border
- A close-up showing a corner of the quilt
Additional photos are always welcome if your quilt contains areas or details you would especially like help with. After purchase, please emails photos to stacie@seamsdivine.com
Using your photos, I will draw quilting design ideas and provide suggestions for how those designs can be incorporated throughout your quilt. These ideas can serve as a roadmap as you complete the quilting yourself.
Choose the Level of Detail You Need
Every quilt—and every quilter—is different! Consultation pricing will vary depending on the amount of design assistance you would like.
Level 1 — Basic General Quilting Plan
Perfect if you need a fresh set of eyes and some direction for getting started. I will review the photos of your quilt top and provide a general quilting plan with design suggestions for the primary areas of your quilt. Best for: Quilters who are comfortable choosing and adapting designs but need help deciding what to quilt where.
Level 2 — Detailed Quilting Plan + Background Ideas
In addition to an overall quilting plan, I will provide more detailed design suggestions and drawings for selected areas of your quilt. We’ll explore ways to add interest, movement, and texture through quilting. Best for: Quilters who want more than general direction and would benefit from additional drawings and ideas for bringing the quilting plan together.
Level 3 — Custom Design and Comprehensive Quilting Plan
This is the most detailed consultation and is designed for quilts where you want to create a truly custom-quilted look. I will develop a customized quilting plan based specifically on the piecing, shapes, movement, and design elements within your quilt top. Your plan may incorporate a combination of ruler work, background fills, continuous curves, crosshatching, feathers, border treatments, block designs, and other custom quilting techniques appropriate for your quilt. Best for: Quilters who want detailed guidance for creating a custom quilting plan.
Please allow 1–2 weeks from the time I receive all required photos for your completed design suggestions to be returned to you.
Want Me to Quilt It for You?
After seeing the design possibilities, you may decide you would rather have me complete the quilting! If you choose to send your quilt to Seams Divine for quilting after your design consultation is complete, the consultation fee you paid will be credited toward your final quilting fee.
Sometimes all it takes is a fresh set of eyes to see the possibilities hiding within a quilt top. I would love to help you discover the quilting designs that will make your quilt uniquely yours.
